Accessibility

Everyone should get to the table.

We want anyone to be able to read the menu, find the room, and get in touch. Here is where this site stands, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.

The standard we build to

This site aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the World Wide Web Consortium. We also work to the newer Level AA criteria added in WCAG 2.2. These are the guidelines United States courts and the Department of Justice point to when they talk about accessible websites.

We describe this site as partially conformant. That means most of it meets the standard, and we are not claiming it is perfect. We have reviewed it carefully, but we have not yet tested it with people who use screen readers and other assistive technology day to day, and no independent auditor has assessed it. Until that happens, "partially conformant" is the honest word.

The site was last reviewed on 14 August 2026. The review covered every page and combined automated testing with a manual pass: keyboard-only navigation, heading and landmark structure, form labelling and error handling, and colour contrast measured against what actually renders on screen rather than against assumed background colours.

What is in place

How the site is built

  • Every page can be operated with a keyboard alone, and there is a visible focus indicator on everything you can reach.
  • A "Skip to main content" link is the first thing a keyboard or screen reader user meets, so the header does not have to be tabbed through on every page.
  • The background video on the home page can be paused, and it is removed entirely for anyone whose device asks for reduced motion.
  • Every image carries a text description, and decorative artwork is hidden from screen readers rather than announced as noise.
  • The catering form labels every field, announces errors as they happen, moves focus to the first field that needs attention, and confirms out loud when an inquiry has been sent.
  • Text and background colours were measured for contrast, including text sitting over photographs and video.
  • The layout reflows down to a 320 pixel screen and up to 200% zoom without content being cut off or requiring sideways scrolling.
  • Page structure uses real headings and landmarks, so assistive technology can navigate by section.

What we know is not covered

Being straight about the gaps is more useful than a clean bill of health:

  • Online ordering happens on another company's site. The "Order direct" links take you to Famished, and our menu and checkout live there. We do not control that site's code. If you hit a barrier while ordering, tell us anyway and we will raise it with them.
  • Directions open in Google Maps. The map on our Visit page is a plain image with the address written out beside it in text, but the directions link hands you to Google.
  • We have not done assistive technology user testing. Our review was careful, but it was not the same as watching someone who relies on a screen reader try to book catering.
  • Typefaces load from Google Fonts. If that service is slow or blocked, the site falls back to fonts already on your device. It stays readable, but it will not look the same.
Tell us

You do not need to know the technical reason, and you do not need to use the right words for it. "I could not finish the catering form with my screen reader" is exactly the kind of message that helps. Tell us what you were trying to do and what got in the way.

Ask for a manager and we will help directly.

We aim to reply within five business days. If a problem stops you from ordering, booking catering, or reaching us, tell us on the phone and we will take your order or your inquiry that way while we fix the site.

If something you report turns out to be a real barrier, we will fix it and say so. If it is on the ordering site rather than ours, we will pass it on and tell you we have.
